Kate Moss has stuck to a tried and tested capsule wardrobe for 30 years.

Only a few other style icons have had as much influence on how British women dress as Kate Moss. Every winter, she's the reason you'll see hundreds of leopard-print furry coats on the high street, ballet pumps outside of barre lessons, and festival-goers wearing Hunter boots to Glastonbury (and every other festival going). Gladiator sandals, skinny scarves, Ugg boots, waistcoats and the Minnetonka craze of early Y2K are all fashion fads Kate Moss has popularised.

Kate has been modelling for over 30 years and never sets a foot wrong with her outfits every time she is photographed, but her style has in fact been fairly constant. She's been wearing the same clothing for decades, with a core wardrobe of everyday essentials. Her ability to influence and shift clothing off rails is never in doubt, but she rarely dabbles in new fashion trends. Read on to see the capsule wardrobe that has kept Kate at the top of the style tree for the last three decades.

The Leopard Print Coat

Although Kate Moss clearly didn't invent the leopard print coat, she certainly has had a hand in it's popularity over the past 20 years. Initially popularised by 60s fashion icons such as Edie Sedgwick and Marianne Faithfull, Kate's love of the leopard print furry jacket is the reason most British women have acquired at least one leopard print overcoat over the last 20 years. Her lemon dress, (which she recreated for her Topshop collection), paired with a cool leopard overcoat is one of her most iconic looks.

The Khaki Jacket

Kate has been wearing Khaki jackets as part of her festival look for decades. Paired in this picture with another trend she catapulted onto the high street - cut off denim hotpants worn here with a hip belt. The Khaki jacket can be dressed down, as she has done here, strolling through Glastonbury's fields, or dressed up with tall boots and skinny dark Denim.

The Skinny Scarf

The skinny scarf from Rockins is one of Kate's signature looks. Think Keith Richards, Johnny Depp - the look has a definite 'Rock Star' vibe. Paired with skinny jeans and a skinny jacket, the skinny scarf is best accentuated by wearing other 'skinny clothes'.

The Skinny Jean

If the skinny jean was popularised for females by any one person, surely that person was Kate Moss. Kate favoured darker shades of the popular Y2K trouser style - black and grey washes were her favourite. Here she wears the look with double denim, tall Louboutins and one of her favourite army jackets. That might even be a skinny scarf poking out the side of her jacket. Starting to see the pattern here?

Gladiator Sandals

Sandal styles come and go, but whether it's 2005 or 20015, every summer, Kate will strap on a pair of Gladiator sandals to pound the city streets. Supremely practical, comfy, easy to walk in and of course, stylish, the gladiator sandal will never go out of fashion.

The Little Black Dress

Kate may not have popularised the little black dress (the LBD can do that all on it's own), but she always has it as part of her clothing arsenal. Seen here with Johnny Depp in the 90s, wearing a caged back version, this is another one of her favourite pieces that she re-designed for her Topshop collection.

The Tuxedo Jacket

The black Tuxedo jacket is a fashion staple in any wardrobe. Kate has an array of the style, with satin, velvet and plain lapels and has worn the chic style with almost everything. From long dresses to denim hotpants to leather trousers or washed out grey denim. Team it with a skinny scarf for a rock vibe, or for a more classic look wear it with a long, navel grazing necklace. Kate has also worn white Tux jackets for a more summery look.

The Ballet Flat

Kate Moss has worn ballet flats since the 90s and has favoured Repetto's stylish pumps. Another shoe that harks back to the heady heyday of the 1960s. Edie Sedgwick first spawned the style of wearing ballet attire as everyday wear and was often seen in a leotard, black opaque tights and ballet flats. Beautifully cut and supremely flattering on the foot, Kate has worn ballet shoes in every colour from black to patent to silver to white. In Y2K the ballet flat ruled the streets and adorned the feet of absolutely every woman with legs. Sold for as little as £5 a pair in Primark, the shoe lots it's sheen when the market was saturated with cheap copies everywhere.  In 2022 they are back once again.
