Rhianna's Savage x Fenty line hires little person Tamera McLaughlin as an ambassador

Rihanna’s lingerie label has earned a reputation as one of the most inclusive names in fashion. It has been hailed for its diversity in both its XS–3X size range, as well as its inclusive fashion shows. The brand extends its diverse and flirty dynamic to the ambassadors it picks to promote its vision, including celebrities like Normani and Megan Thee Stallion, as well as influencers like Loey and Sonny Turner. Its latest casting is in a similar vane. Earlier this week, the 23-year-old Tamera McLaughlin became Savage x Fenty’s first little person ambassador, making the announcement in an Instagram post (February 22).

Tamera, otherwise known as "Thee Little Person," is a 23-year-old social media influencer from Washington, DC. Her speedy rise to social media queen began when she started posting dancing videos and comedic sketches. And ever since Rihanna launched Savage X Fenty, Tamera dreamed of one day becoming one of its ambassadors.

According to Tamera, the role with the Rhianna's lingerie label is a dream come true. “I shared my (dream) with my manager,” she tells Buzzfeed, “and she began to speak life into me by saying, ‘You will get what your heart desires, keep posting and creating a buzz on social media.’”

"My role as the first little person ambassador for the brand represents the idea of bringing awareness to self-love, loving the skin you’re in, and being courageous enough to go after the things your heart desires," Tamera said. "My role represents the notion of leaving doubt and fear that you might not make the cut out of the equation and just walking into your destiny."

"You typically do not see little people modelling for major companies," Tamera continued. "This has been an incredible feeling, and while I may [be] the first little person to become a brand ambassador, I have a positive feeling that I will not be the last!"

So what's next for Tamera? "You all will have to stay tuned to see," she said. "More fire photo shoots for sure, that will most likely feature work from the...photographer Photomatic."
