Time
will pass, fashion will change, models will come and go—but there will
only be one Kate Moss. The supermodel has been the defining fashion
figure for the last three decades, failing to fall victim to fashion's
once-savage attitude to ageing. At 44, Kate is as relevant as ever,
fronting campaigns for Saint Laurent, walking for Louis Vuitton and
covering magazines, as well as ushering in the next generation of fashion stars with her own modelling agency, Kate Moss Agency.
Stepping
out at her favourite London club, Annabel's, over the weekend in a long
embellished black dress, Alaïa corset belt and knee-length snakeskin
boots, we were reminded of how impeccable Kate's style has become over
time. Her '90s off-duty model attire
are among the most-pinned outfits on Pinterest and constantly cited as
inspiration by a bevy of It-girls, fashion influencers and current
models.
But
her style in her 40s is equally noteworthy—a grown-up interpretation of
her rock-and-roll off-duty model look. David Bowie band tees worn with
skinny jeans, perfectly tailored YSL blazers and sky-high stiletto ankle
boots, slouchy silk pajama sets and hyper-feminine bohemian dresses,
accessorised with oversized sunglasses, woke-up-like-this hair and her
bad boy boyfriend, photographer Count Nikolai Von Bismarck.
Here, we celebrate Kate's post-40 style—it's shaping up to be her best decade yet.
