What would happen if you melded your Balenciaga chunky sneakers with your favourite pair of strappy heels and added in some orthopedic sandals for good measure? You might come up with DSquared2’s newest creation.
Dubbed the ‘dad sneaker heels’ by Twitter users, the shoe debuted at the brand’s show at Milan Men’s Fashion Week on June 19, instantly proving a hit with the internet as critics took it upon themselves to, well, critique the life out of them.
Complete with a chunky white base, neon straps and a wedge-like heel, the shoes are definitely a fusion of something, and take the whole ugly sneaker trend to a whole new level. Reminiscent of Balenciaga’s Crocs crossover (and Transformer toys), the shoe is definitely one for the brave.
