Science, art, or somewhere in between? Wellcome Collection’s major spring exhibition will showcase the work of four contemporary artists and the scientists they collaborated with. Bringing together installations by Martina Amati, Daria Martin, Maria McKinney and John Walter, the exhibition will consider how artists can give shape to the human experience, provoking ideas about our senses, our sexual health, our bodies’ limitations and reflections on our food chain.
The artists featured in the exhibition integrate current research from the fields of physiology, neuroscience, immunology and genetics in their work. In today’s often fragmented society, Somewhere in Between will show how working together makes it possible to find solutions, challenge individual perspectives and find new ways of thinking. The featured works are recent projects selected from the rich range of arts projects funded by Wellcome, which has supported the arts for two decades as part of its work to encourage conversations about science and health. They are being presented at Wellcome Collection for the first time.
Somewhere in Between, until August 26, Wellcome Collection.
