It's a true classic
We know all about which designer handbag is the better financial investment (FYI, the Hermes Birkin is worth more than actual gold), but what about the most popular?
It’s difficult to keep track of the It bag of the moment, when so many styles are favoured by celebrities and fashion influencers.
You’ve got your Gucci Dionysus, your Chloe Drew and Dior Mini Lady, and who can spend an hour on Instagram without spotting at least one Louis Vuitton Neverfull?
Well we now have an official answer, and the most popular It bag is perhaps unsurprisingly a true classic.
Vestiaire Collective has released its Global Bag Exchange Index, ranking the top 25 bags sold on their site in the last decade, and taking the top spot is the Chanel Timeless.
With its quilted leather and interlocking Cs, it’s been a firm favourite since being launch by Karl Lagerfeld in the 80s. We love it paired with straight jeans, a white t-shirt and a black blazer for that classic Parisian look.
Taking second place is the Louis Vuitton speedy, and the iconic Hermes Birkin and Kelly bags coming in a solid third and fourth.
